Old Pup is a cosmic folk outfit from Milwaukee, WI with surrealistic leanings and a lyrical nod to American poets old and new. The name was inspired by a Walt Whitman line, "I am old and young, of the foolish as much as the wise." The music draws influence from the cinematic sounds of Lee Hazelwood to the cosmic country of the New Riders of the Purple Sage to the folky songwriting of Neil Young and Bob Dylan. In recent months, he has shared the stage with artists such as Charlie Parr and Daniel Donato.The project is led by multi-instrumentalist Will Hansen, an in demand pedal steel guitarist who plays with a diverse catalog of artists ranging from folk to surf rock to country to trip hop. Old Pup's forthcoming album, Incognito Lounge, releases April 22 via Hear Here Records.
